How do I book Villa Leaf?

Send us a WhatsApp message or use the form on the Contact page. We reply within an hour during 08:00–22:00 Bali time. We'll confirm availability, send a quote, and hold your dates for 48 hours while you decide. A 30% deposit secures the booking; the balance is due 30 days before arrival.

Do you take bookings through Airbnb or Booking.com?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but you save 12–18% by booking direct. You also get a faster reply, our best rates, and direct WhatsApp access to Made (your host) before, during, and after the stay.

Question 3

What's the minimum stay?

Accepted Answer

Three nights for nightly rates, seven for the Weekly Retreat package, twenty-eight for monthly. During peak season (mid-July to mid-August, Christmas, New Year) the minimum is five nights.

How do I pay?

Accepted Answer

Bank transfer (IDR or USD), Wise, or credit card via a secure Stripe link. The 30% deposit confirms the dates; the 70% balance is due 30 days before arrival. We send a clear invoice and a receipt for every payment.

What's your cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

Cancel more than 60 days before arrival for a full refund (less a 5% admin fee). 30–60 days before arrival: 50% refund. Less than 30 days: deposit forfeited but credits roll over to a future stay within 18 months. Flexible re-scheduling within 12 months at no charge if dates change.

What's included in the rate?

Daily breakfast, daily housekeeping, full villa exclusive use (no other guests), pool & garden maintenance, Wi-Fi, welcome drinks, and airport meet & greet on arrival. The Weekly Retreat adds a free private dinner, return transfers, and one 60-minute massage per guest.

Question 7

Can the chef cook lunch and dinner?

Yes. Lunch and dinner are not included in the base rate, but Kadek (our head chef) can prepare any meal on request, Indonesian, Western, vegan, gluten-free, kid-friendly. Lunch is around $15 per person, a full chef-curated dinner $35 per person. Tell us in advance so she can shop the morning market.

Is Villa Leaf good for families with young children?

Accepted Answer

Very. We have baby cots, high chairs, pool floats, a fenced shallow end on the pool (in setup mode), childproof outlet covers, and a kids welcome pack with crayons and a colouring book of Bali. The Family Suite has a bunk room with two single beds.

Is there Wi-Fi fast enough to work remotely?

Yes. 300 Mbps fibre throughout the villa, with a backup 4G router if the line ever drops. The Pool Villa has a dedicated desk; on monthly stays we set up a co-working corner with a second monitor on request.

Question 10

Are events or parties allowed?

Accepted Answer

Small gatherings (under 12 guests) for occasions like birthdays and anniversaries are welcome with a small extra cleaning fee. Loud parties, weddings, and DJ events are not permitted, we're in a residential neighbourhood and respect our neighbours.

Can we bring pets?

We love pets, but Villa Leaf is pet-free out of respect for guests with allergies. We're happy to recommend pet-friendly villas in the area if needed.

Question 12

How far is Villa Leaf from the beach?

Accepted Answer

Six minutes by scooter or twelve by foot to Batu Bolong Beach. Echo Beach is eight minutes; Berawa is twelve. Putu, our driver, can drop you and pick you up on demand.

Question 13

Do you accept large group bookings?

Accepted Answer

The villa caps at 8 adults across 4 bedrooms — that's the comfortable maximum. For groups of 9 to 12, ask us about adding rollaway beds in the Family Suite or the Garden Room (small surcharge). Groups over 12 are not a fit for the property. For multi-villa group trips, we can recommend trusted neighbour villas walking distance from us.

Question 14

Can I extend my stay last-minute?

Yes, whenever the calendar allows. Tell Made by day 3 of your stay if you're thinking about extending and we'll hold the dates while you decide. Extension nights are charged at the same rate you booked at, even if it crosses into a higher season. Most last-minute extensions become same-day decisions over breakfast.

What currencies do you accept?

We quote in USD, accept payment in USD or IDR. Wise and bank transfer in EUR, GBP, AUD, SGD work too — we convert at the day's rate and lock the IDR amount. Stripe accepts most Visa, Mastercard, Amex (small 2.9% surcharge). Crypto and PayPal aren't supported.

Is there a security deposit?

No held deposit. Instead we trust-charge any incidentals (broken glassware, extra cleaning, late check-out) to your card after departure with a clear breakdown. The maximum we'd ever charge for an honest accident is $200. In five years and 200+ stays, the average post-stay charge has been $0.

Can the chef cook for dietary restrictions?

Accepted Answer

Yes — vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, halal, kosher (with notice), nut-free, low-FODMAP. Kadek shops the same morning regardless, so tell us as far ahead as you can. Severe allergies (anaphylaxis): we'll show you the ingredient list of every meal and brief the team. We don't have a separate prep kitchen for nut-free guarantees.

Question 18

What if something breaks or stops working during my stay?

Tell Made on WhatsApp. He's on the property and answers within minutes. Most fixes (AC, hot water, wifi, pool pump) we handle in under an hour with our own tools. For anything bigger (the rare power outage from PLN, a plumbing issue) we move you to the second-best room while we fix it. Never silently fume — we'd much rather know.

Is smoking allowed at the villa?

Non-smoking inside the villa and all bedrooms. Smoking is OK in the garden, by the pool, and on the upper terrace as long as you use an ashtray (we provide them). Vaping follows the same rule. A $150 deep-clean fee applies if we find smoking residue indoors.

Is tipping the staff expected?

Accepted Answer

Not expected, always appreciated. Indonesian hospitality doesn't have a mandatory tipping culture, but if our team has made your stay special, a closing tip is welcome. Most guests leave 5 to 10% of the total stay, split among the team. We have a transparent shared tip jar — every rupiah goes to staff, not the villa.
